Thoma-Holec Design Secures Platinum in the 2023 Dining Competition

We are proud to announce that The Landing Alexandria (Alexandria, VA) received the EFA Platinum Award in the 2023 Dining Competition — and it’s on the cover!

Drawing inspiration from the serene flow of the Potomac River, our mission for this project was to craft a truly distinctive dining experience that catered to the diverse needs of the residents. Our vision was to seamlessly blend casual, private, and formal dining spaces into one harmonious environment.

“Overall, this is a fabulous design with great attention to detail throughout. The design team made sure the spaces are not only visually beautiful but functional for a variety of needs.” - jury comment

Embracing an elegant and timeless modern style, the design exudes an air of sophistication that resonates with the discerning taste of our senior community.

To infuse a sense of connection with nature, we also incorporated organic shapes and elements, fostering a biophilic ambiance that promotes well-being and harmony.

“Its dining area showcases a chic, modern, aesthetic, brought to life through a tasteful palette of earthy neutrals and vibrant blues.” - jury comment

The Covers of Environments for Aging (EFA) Over the Years

Our journey with EFA covers began in Spring 2014, where our innovative design for MorningStar at Arcadia (Phoenix, AZ) caught the attention of the industry, earning us our first well-deserved spot on the cover.

Since then, our collaboration with EFA has been a clear reflection of our unwavering dedication to shaping the future of senior living spaces.

The Best in Senior Living Interior Design

Moving forward, we remain committed to pioneering innovative design solutions that elevate the lives of seniors, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Environments for Aging and its readers for their support and recognition throughout our journey.
